CASH ROOM CLERK

The Finance Department of the Calgary Zoo is currently seeking a mature, qualified individual to work in our cash handling area.

This position has the responsibility, under direction, to assist with the daily operations of the Cash room.  Reconciliation and safety of daily cash receipts are a prime consideration of the position. 

DUTIES and HOURS:

  • Day to day activities of the Cash room as part of a two person team
  • Distribute float bags to cashiers
  • Reconcile float bags returned
  • Count previous days receipts and reconcile daily revenues to system results
  • Prepare bank deposit
  • Prepare floats for next day
  • Count and roll loose coin
  • Ensure that the Cash room is kept orderly
  • Assist with daily, weekly and monthly cash inventory counts
  • Attend to deposit pick ups by Brinks
  • Hours:  Approximate 3 to 8 hours per day depending upon operations activities
  • Workweek – Applicants must be able to work on weekends and holidays.  Start time is 7:00 a.m.  The successful applicants will be flexible with days available.   However, the majority of the workday will be the early mornings and afternoons. 

Physical Demands:  This predominantly sedentary position involves work at a computer and cash handling machines with some heavy lifting.
