Construction Labourer

The Facilities Department is currently seeking a labourer whose general responsibilities will be ensuring that all assigned duties and tasks are carried out in a timely, efficient, and safe manner every day. 

Successful applicant will have:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in related construction field
  • Minimum of 2 years experience operating small and large equipment such as tampers, packers, roller, jackhammer, concrete drill mixers and pumps, man lifts, and, forklifts
  • Bobcat experience with attachments is a must
  • Mechanical training would be an asset
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills
  • Customer service orientated
  • Valid 5th class Alberta driver’s license with a maximum of 6 demerits
  • Must have valid first aid and WHMIS

The responsibilities of this position are:

  • Assist trades as required with small construction projects
  • Moving furniture, equipment and materials
  • May be required to operate small and large equipment in order to effectively carry out duties
  • Ensure that tools and equipment used are kept in good working order
  • Other various duties as assigned

Physical Demands:  This position requires the individual to work under various conditions including: adverse weather conditions, heights, physical demands (heavy lifting, walking, etc.) confined spaces, pungent odours, animals, and zoo visitors.
