The Calgary Zoo ("Zoo") is operated by a registered charitable not-for-profit organization called The Calgary Zoological Society ("The Society"). You will often hear about the Zoo and The Society. The way to understand the difference between the two is simple. The Zoo is the physical place and The Society is the organization that runs it! Did you know that some jobs are actually City of Calgary jobs? The staff group consists of some employed through the Department of Parks and Recreation, and some through The Society.
