  • Elephants don't drink with their trunks, but use them as "tools" to drink with. This is accomplished by filling the trunk with water and then using it as a hose to pour it into the elephants mouth

Elephant Behind the Scenes
Is planning your family's weekly activities hectic? Try planning for four pachyderms. This program starts with an informative talk followed by a close-up visit with the elephants led by our zookeepers. Learn a bit about our elephants' daily routine; from training and foot care to enrichment activities our zookeepers make sure each day is rewarding. Top it off with an unforgettable chance to give the elephants a snack.

Please be aware that this it NOT a bathtime program. Ages five and older only.  Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. and may not attend alone. Please wear appropriate footwear, no open-toed shoes.

Phone (403) 232-9300 or visit our Guest Relations Area at the Zoo’s North entrance between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.  Program fees do not include GST and are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Registrations are accepted in the order in which fees are received. Please note that prices and dates are subject to change.

PLEASE NOTE: Day-time parking in the North Parking Lot will not be included in your program price. 

*  Please pull a parking ticket upon entrance to the parking lot.
*  The $7 fee is payable at the Pay-On-Foot stations at the Zoo entrance, the Guest Relations desk,
    the pay station on the main north plaza or at the exit booth (credit card only at exit)
*  There is a 30-minute grace period for drop-offs
*  This parking ticket MUST be used in order for you to exit the parking lot.
