Taking Action to Sustain Wildlife
Caribou have large hooves that spread out, acting like snowshoes and also as handy scoops to dig in the snow for food. Sharp edges on their hooves provide excellent traction on ice and rock.

Kitamba Java and Penguin Café 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily
Dairy and Tribal Treats 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily (weather dependent)
Zoo Grounds close at 6 p.m.
Savannah, TransAlta Rainforest and Eurasian Gateway 9 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.
Penguin Plunge last entrance at 4:15 p.m., building closes at 4:30 p.m.
(Penguin Plunge hours vary as the light cycle inside the building mimics daylight hours)
