Please note that Prehistoric Park is closed to prepare for the arrival of the animatronic dinosaurs in 2015. The exhibit will reopen in March 2015.
Please note that the interior of Penguin Plunge will be closed from Dec.4 – Dec. 18 to replace the indoor public pathway flooring in the building. Guests will still be able to visit the birds, as some will be outside in the yard, weather dependent. The building is expected to reopen to the public on Dec. 19. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Concessions and Retail open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily*
Buildings: Savannah, TransAlta Rainforest and Eurasian Gateway open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Penguin Plunge open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (last guests in at 4:15 p.m.)
Zoo closes at 6 p.m.
* Concession and retail locations vary during the winter period.
NOTE: During the winter season, due to shorter daylight hours, some animals are “put to bed” before the darkness settles in, beginning as early as 3:30 p.m., both for their safety and the safety of our staff. Penguin Plunge closes at 4:30 p.m. as the light cycle in the building mimics our daylight hours. Also, as TransAlta Rainforest uses only natural light, it may close earlier in some periods.
Never mind the massive banquet hall that can be quickly converted into smaller, more intimate spaces; the selling feature here is the veranda overlooking the giraffes, zebras and ostriches. It’s like you’re dining right in Africa.Learn More
There’s more than just a big auditorium in this building, there’s a smaller theatre as well. So whatever your size of audience, you can present to them in comfort.Learn More
