Gates & Services

Winter Hours
(October 13, 2015 to March 18, 2016)

Gates open 9:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Concession and Retail:

  • Kitamba Café is open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., while Kitamba Java and Penguin Café are open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Outdoor concession locations Dairy Bar and Tribal Treats will close for the season on October 26.

  • Other concession locations closed until Easter 2016.


  • Savannah, TransAlta Rainforest, Eurasian Gateway and Cequel Lodge 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

  • Exception Penguin Plunge: last entrance at 4:15 p.m., building closes at 4:30 p.m.

Zoo Grounds close at 6 p.m.



Safari Lodge

Never mind the massive banquet hall that can be quickly converted into smaller, more intimate spaces; the selling feature here is the veranda overlooking the giraffes, zebras and ostriches. It’s like you’re dining right in Africa.

Karsten Discovery Centre Auditorium

There’s more than just a big auditorium in this building, there’s a smaller theatre as well. So whatever your size of audience, you can present to them in comfort.

Tiger Training

Our Amur tigers receive daily training at 11:30 a.m. in the Tiger Amphitheatre. During this talk, the keeper wears a mic and instructs the tiger to practice a series of actions for reward.
