The Calgary Zoo is thrilled to participate in PLANTED, a celebration of Calgary’s best vegan and vegetarian cuisine!
Some of Calgary’s top restaurants and chefs are featuring PLANTED themed menus around the city. The closing celebration will take place at the zoo on April 25, 2019, starting at 7:00 p.m., and feature a PLANTED Tasting Menu as well as great interactive events to celebrate all things vegetables and creativity.
The Calgary Zoo is the only Canadian tourist attraction with Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice (LEAF) designation. We take great pride in our local, sustainably sourced menu. In fact, items like Grazers’ mixed green salad are made almost entirely from ingredients grown and harvested at the zoo. Weekly collections of produce like beets, herbs, and rhubarb from the zoo’s gardens are used to provide zoo-goers with some of the freshest – and most delicious – meals around.
PLANTED’s closing celebration, Farm Zoo Table, will include admission to the Calgary Zoo, a Chef Vegan and Vegetarian Tasting Menu, Garden of Life themed education games and touch tables, live music, silent auction, photo booth, cash bar. Each guest will be given a passport to ensure they get the most out of their visit. Guests will have an opportunity to win a prize when all items are marked off their passport (by tasting each item).
Farm Zoo Table will feature top chefs including:
WINSPORT – Liana Robberecht, Melanie Hennessey, LA Rybicki, Allyson Noble, Maria Besuijen
CALGARY ZOO – James Neilson
PORTERS TONIC – Nicole Fewell
DINER DELUXE – Chris Lorenz
Even after delicious food, great music and fun games, we haven’t shared the best part yet. The PLANTED dinner series has teamed up with Community Kitchen to help raise money to fight hunger by promoting healthy food choices and enabling the community to educate, equip and feed themselves.
PLANTED is a unique culinary experience you won’t want to miss. Buy your tickets for the closing event, Farm Zoo Table today!
