THANK YOU to the incredible volunteers at the Calgary Zoo! We’re celebrating National Volunteer Week from April 23- 29, 2017 with a series of videos… about you!
Our staff can’t say enough your work- we simply couldn’t accomplish all of the things that we do without our volunteer family.
The volunteers in Animal Care do an amazing job, and free up time for our zookeepers to spend more individual time with our animals, creating enrichment and other experiences that make our animal’s lives better.
The docents and volunteer staff in Education ensure that visitors to the Calgary Zoo learn about animal species, wildlife conservation, and come away with respect for nature.
The Calgary Zoo’s horticulture staff can’t sing the praises of their volunteer team loud enough! This dedicated team have patience and green thumbs galore, and help the zoo’s famous botanical gardens flourish.
Our volunteer team knows that a visit to the Calgary Zoo is often so much more. Penguin Plunge volunteers specialize in one of our most popular buildings, and can identify one of the many penguins on sight! Special Events volunteers ensure that the zoo’s many extra occasions become successes- these volunteers have a great sense of fun and make it enjoyable for all, staff included. Finally, our Junior Zoo Guides are incredible examples of the engaged youth in Calgary – smart, independent leaders of tomorrow that we are lucky to have in our zoo family.
We are so appreciative of this team’s dedication, passion and good cheer. Volunteers, we love you!
Big thanks to the students from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) for their work in creating these videos.
