Come on in – the water’s perfect, or is it? Animals in their natural habitats swim in a biological soup, but at the zoo we use filtration systems to ensure the soup doesn’t get too chunky! In the Canadian Wilds we’ll explore biofilters, we'll test water from our hippo pool, penguin pool, and canadian wilds biofilter - can you tell which is which? Students will track the potential path of garbage from the zoo to the ocean while discovering the importance of water and its global distribution through small group activities. We finish with a hopeful message of how a teenage boy came up with the idea to clean the oceans! Click HERE for a more detailed outline of the program.
