The countdown is on! Wild Canada will open to the public and members at 11 a.m. on December 1st, 2023! Visitors may still enter the zoo at 9:00 a.m., as per our normal business hours.

We look forward to welcoming visitors back to the space when the new Wild Canada zone officially opens on December 1, 2023.

Upcoming Closures: Destinations and Spaces

African Rainforest, gorilla viewing: The western lowland gorilla troop will not be viewable during the morning of November 30 from opening until approximately 1:30 p.m. while construction work is done to the upper viewing area of their habitat. Thank you for your understanding.

Penguin Plunge, penguin viewing: Penguin Plunge will be closed from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. on December 1, 2023. Thank you for your understanding.

Calling all red panda enthusiasts!

Join us for an evening of inspired conversation and a delicious four course dinner prepared by our award-winning culinary team. This special event will include an exclusive viewing of our red pandas, and presentations from our Animal Care, Health & Welfare team who work closely with them. See behind the scenes photos and videos and hear stories from those close to the red pandas. This adult-only evening is one you won’t soon forget.

When: Saturday, October 21st 2023

Time: The event runs from 5:00pm – 9:00pm but you can start exploring the zoo as early as 3:00pm

Schedule:

3:00pm - 4:45pm | Your ticket includes entry as early as 3:00pm, so feel free to come early and explore the zoo!
5:00pm | Doors open to Exploration Asia zone
5:00pm – 6:00pm | Exclusive visit with the red pandas
6:00pm | Doors to Safari Lodge open along with the cash bar.
6:30pm | Plated four-course dinner and presentations begin
*Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening. We will provide a complimentary welcome drink
9:00pm | Evening concludes

Additional Booking Information:

This is an ‘adult-only’ experience (18+). Guests arriving for this experience with children/infants will not be admitted. No refunds will be provided.
Guests that wish to be seated together must be requested in advance in the note field when booking. Tables will not be re-arranged on the evening of event.
Members receive a 10% discount (Wild Journey members only).
This event is entirely accessible – if you need to rent a wheelchair or powerchair – please contact Guest Relations at (403) 232-9300 at least 24 hours before the event. These services will not be open during the event without a pre-booking.
Parking  is $13 and is not included. Wild Journey members receive free registered parking.
