Nothing compares to ... ZOO BREW! 

Cheers to a hoppy night at the zoo. The Calgary Zoo has teamed up with BeerGuysYYC for an evening full of local craft beer, local food, fun activities and best of all … no kids! Wander the zoo with a drink in hand at this twilight event and watch as the zoo transforms into a peaceful evening escape – perfect for a girls’ night out, or a romantic date night. This is an 18+ event.

Here’s what to expect for this amazing night out:

  • When: Thursday, September 24, 2020 (Sold out!)

  • Where: Calgary Zoo 

  • Time: First entry at 4:30 p.m.; event runs until 9:00 p.m. Entries will be staggered in 30 min intervals to ensure safe physical distancing throughout your experience. 

  • What: Your ticket grants you admission to the zoo (during your timed ticket entry time only) and beer tasting samples from local Craft Breweries! There will be chef attended food stations (see the menu below for more details), fun activities, and conservation education. 

  • Ticket Price: $60+GST (Calgary Zoo Engage and Inspire Members enjoy 10% off) 

A friendly reminder that all guests for Zoo Brew will be ID'd at the gate before entrance as per our AGLC license – everyone will be checked.

What to bring:

  • Mask - Face coverings are recommended for ages 2+ and are required inside Calgary Zoo buildings from August 1, in accordance with City of Calgary Bylaw 26M2020. While the majority of the Zoo Brew event takes place outdoors, please note that you will be required to wear a mask to enter: Penguin Plunge, Cequel Energy Lodge, Savannah building, Rainforest building, ENMAX Conservatory, Kitamba (except while enjoying food and beverages at our indoor tables!), Gift Shop locations, indoor washrooms and Lost & Found services. 

  • Dress for the weather! This event will be outdoors and will take place rain or shine!

  • Wear Comfy Shoes! The zoo is a big place and you will be walking a large part of it for this event.


    What to know:

  • The Calgary Zoo is a one-directional experience. Be sure to follow the important Health & Safety information below, all signage and the pink paw prints! We ask all event participants to practice safe physically distancing, to wash your paws often, and to only congregate in your personal cohort group. 

  • Our Zoo Crew will be sanitizing high touch surfaces throughout the event experience.

  • Masks are encouraged but not mandatory in outdoor spaces. Zoo staff and volunteers will be wearing masks at all times.

  • This event is entirely accessible – if you need to rent a wheelchair or powerchair – please contact Guest Relations at 403-232-9300 at least 24 hours before the event. These services will not be open during the event without a pre-booking.

  • The Calgary Zoo will close to the public at 4:30 p.m. for this event. This special event ticket allows you to stay on grounds until 9:00 p.m. You will need to keep it with you at all times, either on your phone or as a print out.

  • We kindly ask that you do not bring outside food and beverages to this event. Your support of our food services is greatly appreciated and helps us make these events financially stable.

  • We will not be accepting cash on premises.


What to do:

  • Park and enter the zoo through our North parking lot and entrance.

  • Arrive and enter during your timed ticket entry time ONLY.

  • Have fun – this is an entertaining evening intended to help you have fun learning about wildlife conservation, while experiencing the Calgary Zoo in a new and exciting way - at night!

Important Health & Safety Information

You are not to enter the Calgary Zoo if:

  • You are ill or experiencing symptoms of COVID -19. These include:

    • Fever

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath

    • Runny nose

    • Sore throat

    • And/or others listed on Alberta Health Services website

  • You have been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with or has symptoms of COVID-19.

  • You or someone in your household has traveled internationally in the past 14 days.

You will be asked to follow all Alberta Health Services Guidelines on Calgary Zoo grounds:

  • Practice physical distancing: keep 3 meters between your household and others.

  • Wash hands often for at least 20 seconds.

  • Face coverings are recommended for ages 2+ and are required inside Calgary Zoo buildings from August 1, in accordance with City of Calgary Bylaw 26M2020. Be sure to bring yours with you when you visit, and put them on and remove them safely. Expect to require one to enter: Penguin Plunge, Cequel Energy Lodge, Savannah building, Rainforest building, ENMAX Conservatory, Kitamba (except while enjoying food and beverages at our indoor tables!), Gift Shop locations, indoor washrooms and Lost & Found services. A limited supply will be available at our North Gift Shop while quantities last!
