Cheers to a hoppy night at the zoo! The Calgary Zoo has teamed up with BeerGuysYYC for an evening full of local craft beer, local food, fun activities and best of all … no kids! Wander the zoo with a drink in hand at this twilight event and watch as the zoo transforms into a peaceful evening escape – perfect for a night out with friends, or a romantic date night. This is an 18+ event.

Here’s what to expect for this amazing night out:

WHEN: Friday, June 25, 2021 (Sold out!)

WHERE: Calgary Zoo 

TIME: First entry at 5:00 p.m.; Last entry 6:30 p.m.; Event runs until 9:00 p.m. Entries will be staggered in 30 min intervals to ensure safe physical distancing throughout your experience.

WHAT: This event will celebrate 'local' with over 20 local breweries featured throughout the zoo grounds. Each ticket includes: admission to the zoo, beer tasting samples from local Craft Breweries, delicious food items from chef attended food stations (see the menu below for more details), lawn games and conservation education. All ticket holders for Zoo Brew must be 18+ years of age and will be ID'd at the gate before entrance as per our AGLC license – everyone will be checked.

Important Information:

  • Zoo Brew will happen rain or shine - please dress for the weather.
  • A reminder that Zoo Brew takes place entirely outdoors. As Zoo Brew takes place after hours, our indoor animal habitats & buildings will be closed per normal operations, with the exception of Kitamba Café, retail shops and washrooms. We appreciate your understanding.
  • Physical distancing protocols will be in place. Face coverings are mandatory inside buildings (Kitamba Café, retail shops and washrooms) and while in line at all outdoor food and beverage stations.

  • What do I need to bring?
    • Mask - Face coverings are recommended for ages 2+ and are required inside Calgary Zoo buildings from August 1, in accordance with City of Calgary Bylaw 26M2020. While the majority of the Zoo Brew event takes place outdoors, please note that you will be required to wear a mask to enter: Kitamba Café, retail shop locations, indoor washrooms and Lost & Found services. 

    • Dress for the weather! This event will be outdoors and will take place rain or shine!

    • Wear Comfy Shoes! The zoo is a big place and you will be walking a large part of it for this event.

  • What else do I need to know?
    • The Calgary Zoo is a one-directional experience. Be sure to follow the important Health & Safety information below, all signage and the pink paw prints! We ask all event participants to practice safe physically distancing, to wash your paws often, and to only congregate in your personal household/cohort group. 

    • Masks are encouraged but not mandatory while enjoying outdoor spaces. However, masks are required to be worn outdoors while in line at food & beverage stations. Zoo staff and volunteers will be wearing masks at all times.

    • This event is entirely accessible – if you need to rent a wheelchair or powerchair – please contact Guest Relations at 403-232-9300 at least 24 hours before the event. These services will not be open during the event without a pre-booking.

    • The Calgary Zoo will close to the public at 4:00 p.m. for this event. This special event ticket allows you to stay on grounds until 9:00 p.m. You will need to keep it with you at all times, either on your phone or as a print out.

    • We kindly ask that you do not bring outside food and beverages to this event. Your support of our food services is greatly appreciated and helps us make these events financially stable.

    • Debit or credit are the preferred methods of payment at this time, however cash is accepted.

  • What should I do on arrival?
    • Park and enter the zoo through our North parking lot and entrance.

    • Arrive and enter during your timed ticket entry time ONLY.

    • Have fun – this is an entertaining evening intended to help you have fun learning about wildlife conservation, while experiencing the Calgary Zoo in a new and exciting way - at night!

  • Important health and safety information

    You are not to enter the Calgary Zoo if:

    • You are ill or experiencing symptoms of COVID -19. These include:

      • Fever

      • Cough

      • Shortness of breath

      • Runny nose

      • Sore throat

      • And/or others listed on Alberta Health Services website

    • You have been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with or has symptoms of COVID-19.

    • You or someone in your household has traveled internationally in the past 14 days.

    You will be asked to follow all Alberta Health Services Guidelines on Calgary Zoo grounds:

    • Practice physical distancing: keep 3 meters between your household and others.

    • Wash hands often for at least 20 seconds.

    • Face coverings are recommended for ages 2+ and are required inside Calgary Zoo buildings from August 1, in accordance with City of Calgary Bylaw 26M2020. Be sure to bring yours with you when you visit, and put them on and remove them safely. Expect to require one to enter: Penguin Plunge, Cequel Energy Lodge, Savannah building, Rainforest building, ENMAX Conservatory, Kitamba (except while enjoying food and beverages at our indoor tables!), Gift Shop locations, indoor washrooms and Lost & Found services. A limited supply will be available at our North Gift Shop while quantities last!
