High Season Hours

Gates open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Public Entrance:

Concession and Retail:

  • Kitamba Café is open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., while Kitamba Java and Penguin Café are open 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

  • Outdoor concession locations like Dairy Bar and Tribal Treats will open on weekends on March 26 (Easter weekend).
    All outdoor concessions subject to visitor attendance and weather.

Buildings and Habitats:

  • African Savannah, Eurasian Gateway, Canadian Wilds (including Cequel Lodge), TransAlta Rainforest, ENMAX Conservatory Prehistoric Park: 9 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. 

  • Penguin Plunge: 9 a.m. - last entrance at 5:45 p.m, building closure at 6 p.m.

  • Penguin Plunge schedule changes back September 6, 2016: last entrance at 4:15 p.m., building closes at 4:30 p.m. 

Zoo grounds close at 6 p.m.



Safari Lodge

Never mind the massive banquet hall that can be quickly converted into smaller, more intimate spaces; the selling feature here is the veranda overlooking the giraffes, zebras and ostriches. It’s like you’re dining right in Africa.

There’s more than just a big auditorium in this building, there’s a smaller theatre as well. So whatever your size of audience, you can present to them in comfort.
