Gates open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Zoo grounds close at 6 p.m.
Open 364 days a year, excluding December 25, Christmas Day.

Concession and Retail:

  • Kitamba Café is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Kitamba Java and Penguin Café are open from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. 

  • North gift shop is open from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Tigers Den is open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., weather depending. The Trading Post opens for Easter weekend.

  • Outdoor concession locations like Dairy Bar, Tusk and Grill, and Tribal Treats are open on weekends and holidays from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
    All outdoor concession subject to visitor attendance and weather.
     

Buildings and Habitats:

  • African Savannah, TransAlta Rainforest, ENMAX Conservatory, Canadian Wilds (including Cequel Lodge) open from 9 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. 

  • Penguin Plunge open from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Last entrance at 4:15 p.m.

  • Prehistoric Park is open during zoo hours from March 23 - October 31, 2017.

  • Eurasian Gateway is closed for construction of the giant panda habitat.

Zoo grounds close at 6 p.m.

Programs

Safari Lodge

Never mind the massive banquet hall that can be quickly converted into smaller, more intimate spaces; the selling feature here is the veranda overlooking the giraffes, zebras and ostriches. It’s like you’re dining right in Africa.

There’s more than just a big auditorium in this building, there’s a smaller theatre as well. So whatever your size of audience, you can present to them in comfort.

Animal Feeding

Our animals are provided with a variety of different food items, which is enriching and stimulating as they interact with their meals in their habitats. Each animal feeding is narrated by an Educational program.
