Snow leopard born at Calgary Zoo leaves a species survival legacy

Shanti, a female snow leopard born at the Calgary Zoo, died in June of 2013 at the Sacremento Zoo. She lived to be 20 years old, making her one of the oldest of about 400 captive snow leopards in the world. In her lifetime she gave birth to four litters of cubs.
