Bite-size News

The Calgary Zoo manages a diverse collection of animals representing many geographic areas of the world – and it takes a small army of dedicated zoo staff to take care of everything for the animals and over 1.2 million visitors each year. Almost daily, there is some news about our animals or the interesting people that work or visit the zoo. Muskox don’t live up to their smelly name. They do not have a musk gland, although during the breeding season males create a stink by spraying themselves with urine.
