The Calgary Zoo is for Everyone

The Calgary Zoo wants to ensure a safe and convenient experience for everyone. Wheelchair rentals are available, and qualified attendants are given complimentary access to the zoo while accompanying individuals who need special assistance. Service dogs are also welcome on the grounds with proper identification.

Wheelchair Rentals

Wheelchairs are available to rent at the Gift Shop for $21, GST and $10 refundable deposit included. Rentals are on a first-come, first-serve basis – no reservations will be accepted.

Power Chairs

Power chairs are available to rent (weather dependent) at the Gift Shop for $25. Rentals are on a first-come, first-serve basis – no reservations will be accepted.

Qualified Attendants

If you have a disability and need assistance while visiting the zoo, you must be accompanied by a paying adult or a qualified attendant. A qualified attendant is a paid employee of an agency that provides this service. They must present proper identification to receive free access to the Calgary Zoo while accompanying the person who needs assistance.

The Calgary Zoo accepts the Access 2 Entertainment card as identification for attendants. Please visit www.access2card.ca to obtain this card.

Service Dogs

Service animals are welcome at the Calgary Zoo. We ask that all service animals pre-register using this form before attending, and enter only through the North entry gate.

We do not accept service dogs in training, unless during a pre-registered training session. In order to attend a training session, this form must be completed. A training map can be download here

Please refer to the zoo’s service animal policy for more details.
