Rides & Play Areas

FUN STUFF to do at the ZOO!

Ride your favorite animal on the wildlife carousel or burn some energy at one of the zoo's playgrounds!

Are your kids bursting with energy? If you’re looking for fun things to do with children, the zoo’s huge play areas have loads of activities for kids of all ages. The toughest decision will be deciding where to go first – the carousel or one of the zoo’s great FREE playgrounds. There are always lots of fun events for kids at the zoo!

Wildlife Carousel

Located beside the Tiger’s Den gift shop, and FUN for kids of all ages, the zoo’s wildlife carousel hosts 30 unique figures representing endangered animals from all seven continents. Riders can also choose to take a spin in one of two wheelchair-accessible chariots - choose between a fanciful peacock or an ornate butterfly.

Regular hours: the wildlife carousel is open daily from 10:30 a.m. — 4:30 p.m. Please note that the carousel is weather and visitor dependent.

Ride tickets are available at Tiger's Den gift shop, and at the carousel when cash station is open: $3 per ride or unlimited rides for $8 (Engage and Inspire Members pay only $5 for unlimited rides).

Zoo Mini Express Train

The zoo Mini Express train runs weekends from 10:30 a.m. — 4:30 p.m, and during the week 1 p.m. — 4:30 p.m. as staffing allows. Please note that the train is weather and visitor dependent.

Our little train is now fun for all ages; adults can ride the train, too! Ride tickets are available at Tiger's Den gift shop, and at the carousel when cash station is open: $3 per ride or unlimited rides for $8 (Engage and Inspire Members pay only $5 for unlimited rides).
