Volunteers donate their skills to our year-round operation in a number of areas such as: Customer service, administration, special events, food service, visitor engagement, horticulture, educational programs and animal care support. A variety of positions and shifts are available during the weekdays and on weekends, and you can choose what works for your schedule, including popular special events like ZOOLIGHTS.
Complete the application to apply for a position, and a member of the Volunteer Resources team will be in touch within 2–3 business days.
Group Volunteer Opportunities
There are loads of fun and rewarding opportunities to support your zoo! The Calgary Zoo welcomes corporate, school, and other volunteer groups to get involved in our project and events. Large-scale volunteering is subject to pre-planning with our Volunteer Resources team and we ask that requests be received at least 30 days in advance to organize.
Junior Zoo Guides
Over the summer months and for our special events, your zoo's youth volunteers engage and inspire to take action for wildlife. Thank you to the RBC Foundation for supporting our Junior Zoo Guides and helping youth gain valuable skills for the future.
