Dinny Donation Campaign

Dinny Needs a Makeover

Dinny is our oldest resident at the Calgary Zoo, installed in 1937 along with 56 other concrete dinosaurs. An imposing figure that you see along Zoo Road, he also carries a heavy burden – a historic figure and a symbolic reminder that extinct is forever. A quiet observer, Dinny has witnessed Calgary and the world around him change and grow. But the passage of time, weather and destructive flood waters of 2013 have not been kind to him - Dinny needs a makeover! Please donate and help give Dinny some much-deserved love.

ZooCare: Adopt Dinny

Dinosaurs need love too! Dinny, our beloved Brontosaurus, is the Calgary Zoo’s oldest resident. An iconic figure who also carries a heavy burden – a reminder that extinct is forever. By symbolically adopting Dinny and donating through our ZooCare program you will continue to provide for the animals that we love and help keep them safe.

Gorillas on the Line

Some cell phone parts use coltan - an ore mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The deforestation and mining associated with coltan production has impacted and displaced gorillas, moving them closer to extinction. Recycling our electronic devices reduces the demand for coltan mining. When we lessen the demand for coltan, we are helping to protect gorillas in the wild!
