Brawn Family Foundation River Lodge: Last entry to the Brawn Family Foundation River Lodge will be at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 29th, to accommodate setup for our Wild After Hours: Otters (18+) event. Thank you for your understanding.

Animal Viewing Impacts:

Destination Africa

Our hippos will not be viewable Tuesday, June 24th, and Wednesday, June 25th, to accommodate painting around the habitat. Thank you for your understanding.

Exploration Asia
The Exploration Asia Redevelopment project is officially underway! While there are some viewing impacts in the area, you can still visit many of your favourite species.

  • Species Viewable: Bactrian camels, Komodo dragons, white-handed gibbons, Malayan tapirs, red-crowned cranes, Turkmenian markhors, Amur tigers, wild boar, and Pallas’s cats. Plus, our Dalmatian pelicans can be found in their temporary home at Land of Lemurs!
  • Species Not Viewable: Snow leopards and red pandas have been relocated during construction, but don’t worry – these beloved species will be back in 2026.

West Gate Closure

Due to significant construction activities in and around Exploration Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.

Special Events Vendors

Terms & Conditions

  • The full event will run from 5pm – 11pm. Vendors will be scheduled in one of the following time slots: 5pm – 9pm, 6pm – 10pm, or 8pm – 11pm. Due to the size of the event and animal considerations, not all areas of the grounds will remain open for the duration of the event.
  • All persons responsible for the serving or handling of alcohol for a vendor table before, during or after the event must comply with all provincial legal certification requirements and laws. You must have valid ProServe to pour alcohol and you must have proof on you at all times during the event to show to Alberta Gaming Liquor Cannabis (AGLC). This will be checked at the entry prior to entering zoo grounds.
  • All vendors must provide their liquor purchase agreement information (proving the value of your product for AGLC). This information will be collected at check in to the catering team members. Vendors without this information will not be granted access to zoo grounds.
  • Vendors are required to follow the sample sizes approved as per AGLC (Beer, Ciders, Coolers, and Premixed – 4 oz, Wine – 2 oz., Spirits & Liqueurs – 1 oz).
  • All vendors must bring compostable cups for a tasting event for 2000 guests.
  • Electric carts or trolleys will not be available for transport. Vendors are responsible for bringing their own trolleys/wagons etc to transport their supplies from the entry location to their designated spot.
  • NEW this year: Vendors ARE permitted to partake in event food (not alcoholic beverages). 2 staff per vendor table will be given vendor wristbands in order to attend food stations. Vendors are also welcome to bring their own personal food onsite as Concessions venues will be closed during the event.
  • At least one representative must remain at the table all times during set up, tear down, and throughout the event.
  • ALL representatives attending the event must read and sign the Contractor Briefing and Waiver of Liability to be granted access to the event – please bring in person at time of event.
  • No refunds for any vendors that register for the event.
  • Vendors may also purchase up to 6 additional tickets at a discounted rate. Call 403-232-9300 and to purchase these tickets. Please quote your vendor table order number (on your table registration email).
