  • What else should I know about attending FOCUSED?
    • The Calgary Zoo is currently an outdoor-only experience. Be sure to follow the important Health & Safety information below and all signage on grounds! We ask all FOCUSED participants to practice safe physically distancing, to wash your paws often, and to only congregate with your household.

    • Masks are strongly encouraged, but not mandatory* while outdoors. Zoo staff and volunteers will be wearing masks at all times. *Subject to change.

    • This photography experience is entirely accessible – if you need to rent a wheelchair or powerchair, please contact Guest Relations at 403-232-9300 at least 24 hours before the event. These services will not be open during the event without a pre-booking.

    • The Calgary Zoo opens to members at 9:00 a.m. and to the public at 10:00 a.m. This special experience ticket allows you exclusive access to the Zoo Island from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (ie. before the zoo opens!). You will need to keep it with you at all times, either on your phone or as a print out. The FOCUSED event ends at 9:30 a.m.

    • Please be mindful that as you will be entering the zoo before our regular business hours, you may see some of our animal care team performing their daily morning routines. Some animals may not be visible for a short period while the animal care team cleans their habitat, and as always, the animals in our care have access to both their indoor and outdoor space and can choose where they want to be. Early mornings tend to be the best time to catch the animals at their most active - enabling you to capture some exceptional moments!

  • Is parking included?

Parking is $12 and is not included in the ticket price. You can park and enter the zoo through our North parking lot and entrance. Payment machines are located in the North parking lot (Alberta Plaza). The North gate will open at 9:00 a.m. and the event starts at 9:00 a.m.
