Hours of Operation:

Land of Lemurs is open daily at 9 a.m., with last entrance at 5:15 p.m. 

This habitat has an immersive outdoor loop that is seasonal. During evenings and winter months, the lemurs are housed in a heated building that can be viewed from exterior windows in Land of Lemurs.

Present in moist lowland and montane forest in the east of Madagascar, and dry tropical forest in the west. The species has a very adaptable behavioural ecology and is noted to move territory.


Red-fronted lemurs are herbivores. They are mainly folivorous meaning they eat mostly leaves. They also consume fruit, flowers, and bark.
