FOCUSED: Destination Africa
FOCUSED, presented by The Camera Store, gives shutterbugs (ages 16+) exclusive access to Destination Africa from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17th. Capture breathtaking photos of iconic wildlife, like hippos and gorillas while enjoying exclusive access to the indoor and outdoor habitats of our Destination Africa zone. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome.
The zoo’s Animal Care, Health & Welfare team are thrilled to share their passion for the animals they love and care for with our FOCUSED ticket holders. Throughout the event, they will be creating special enrichment and feeding opportunities for you to photograph.
Tickets include entry to the zoo from 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 17th, so enjoy a full day of zoo adventure before putting Destination Africa under the lens in the evening!

Ticket Price: $55 + GST
Event Schedule
- 9:00 a.m. – Ticket holders can access the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo.
- 6:00 p.m. – Exclusive access to Destination Africa begins.
- 8:00 p.m. – Event ends.
Additional Booking Information
- Your ticket includes day admission from 9:00 a.m., so feel free to explore the rest of the zoo grounds before your exclusive access to Destination Africa begins from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- This program is 16+. Guests arriving with children or infants will not be admitted and will not be given a refund.
- This is event takes place both indoors and outdoors, and will proceed rain or shine.
