Exploration Asia
The Exploration Asia Redevelopment project is officially underway! While there are some viewing impacts in the area, you can still visit many of your favourite species.
Due to significant construction activities in and around Exploration Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.
Bite-Sized
Guess who is back and ready to strut their stuff?
That’s right – our blue peafowl are back on zoo grounds! ‘Lamar’ (white band), ‘Fabio’ (pink band), ‘Bart’ (black band), and ‘Phillip’ (blue band) are now visible in their favourite places across the zoo. ‘Andrew’ (yellow band) and ‘Steve’ (green band) are still behind-the-scenes but will join the muster on grounds soon.
Having the special opportunity to be close to wildlife like this comes with the important responsibility of respecting their space! Remember to keep your distance and avoid touching and feeding the peacocks. Thanks for helping us to keep our animal friends safe!
