Animal Viewing Impacts

Polar Bears: Our polar bears will be temporarily off view in the main habitat in the morning of Thursday, October 29, to accommodate tree pruning in the area. They may be viewable through the courtyard window. Thank you for your understanding.

Tortoises: Our leopard tortoise and pancake tortoise are temporarily off-view while their habitat in the African Rainforest Building undergoes modifications. Thank you for your understanding.

Avian Influenza Protocols

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has confirmed the presence of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) within 200 kilometres of the Wilder Institute’s Calgary Zoo.

The health and well-being of the animals in our care remains our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, we’re proactively implementing the following measures to protect our avian species:

Footbaths have been installed at the entrances to The Larry Ruskin Penguin Plunge, the Jihad Shibley Rocky Mountain Aviary, and the African Rainforest Aviary for all staff, volunteers, guests, and contractors entering these spaces.
Birds will continue to have outdoor access where appropriate and weather permitting.

Seating Times

First Seating – 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. | Arrival time 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Second Seating – 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. | Arrival time 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Third Seating – 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. | Arrival time 2 pm – 2:30 p.m.

Please plan for sufficient time to walk from the North Parking Lot to Safari Lodge. Both the room and buffet will be cleared promptly at the end of the seating time.

To be seated with another booking, please submit your request in the note field at time of purchase or contact Guest Relations (403)-232-9300, at least 24 hours in advance. Tables will not be re-arranged on the day of the brunch.
Ticket sales end at midnight 1 day prior to the event.
This event includes day admission to the Wilder Institute’s Calgary Zoo starting at 9 a.m. First seating can enter starting at 8:45 a.m.
This event does NOT include admission to ZOOLIGHTS, presented by Olympia Trust Company, which is a separate ticketed event.
Infants (under 3) are free, please advise if you have any infants or require a highchair in advance. Highchairs are available while supplies last.
Your ticket price includes gratuity, which compensates our staff for their service.
Events at the Wilder Institute’s Calgary Zoo may take place in indoor or outdoor spaces, and accessing event locations may involve navigating varying terrain. While we strive to provide a physically accessible experience for all guests, some areas may be more difficult to navigate. If you have specific accessibility needs or questions about the event, please contact Guest Relations at (403) 232-9300. Wheelchairs, powerchairs, and wagons are available to rent on a first come, first served basis.

ParkPlus Parking at the zoo is $14. Wildlife Guardians and Wild Journey members receive free registered parking if they have successfully registered with ParkPlus.
