Join us for a wild and wonderful Canada Day celebration, where nature, culture, and community come together! We’ll be celebrating all of the things that make Canada special, from its wildlife to its people. Whether you’re spending the day learning about Canada’s rich wildlife, indulging in iconic Canadian treats, or getting festive with a maple leaf temporary tattoo, you’re sure to have an unforgettable day with us.

A Full Day of Celebration
Canada Day at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is packed with wild fun for all ages. Here’s what you can look forward to during your visit:
- Interactive Games: Whether you’re learning about Indigenous medicine plants or stepping into the pawprints of a black bear, our interactive games will spark your love of wildlife and wild places.
- London Drugs Activities Tent: Join our friends from London Drugs on Savannah Lawn for a game of bean bag toss for a chance to win prizes.
- Backyard Heroes Parade: The Wilder Bunch will be celebrating Canada’s incredible wildlife with a lively Canada-themed parade honouring our animal superheroes.
- Mini Flags, Temporary Tattoos, and Chalk Art: Add some festive flair to your fit and get creative with chalk art on Discovery Bridge.
- Photo Opportunities: Nothing says Canada more than a giant inflatable polar bear or beaver! Be sure to snap a picture when you visit Asia Lawn.

- Kitamba Café – Maple bacon poutine, yogurt & raspberry Jell-O parfait, and Canada Day-themed cupcakes
- Java Café – Montreal smoked meat panini and a Caesar with a pickle-and-pepperoni twist
- Penguin Café – Montreal smoked meat panini and Canada Day-themed cupcakes
- Dairy Bar & Dinny’s Diner – Classic strawberry sundaes
