Whether you’re spending the day learning about Canada’s biodiversity, indulging in iconic Canadian treats, or getting festive with a maple leaf temporary tattoo, you’re sure to have an unforgettable day with us.

Wild Experiences Around the Park

A Full Day of Canada Day Fun

Celebrate Canada Day surrounded by some of the country’s most iconic wildlife! From special activities and photo opportunities to family-friendly entertainment, there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day (weather permitting).

  • Canada Day Games & Activities
    Make your way to Asia Lawn for interactive games and activities that celebrate Canada’s wildlife, wild places, and the conservation efforts that help protect them.
  • The Wilder Bunch
    Join the Wilder Bunch as they bring Canadian wildlife to life with the daily Conservation Celebration Parade at 10:30 a.m., beginning in Penguin Plaza. Then, head to Savannah Lawn at 1 p.m. for Backyard Heroes and discover some of the amazing species that share our Canadian backyard.
  • Canada Day Creations
    Show off your Canadian spirit with mini flags, stickers and colouring pages, while supplies last.
  • Picture-Perfect Canada Day Moments
    Strike a pose with a larger-than-life Canadian icon! Stop by Asia Lawn to snap a photo with our giant inflatable beaver or Canada sign for a wild Canada Day keepsake.

Animal Enrichment in Wild Canada

The Canada Day fun isn’t just for our guests, it’s for the animals too!

Throughout the day, discover special themed enrichment experiences happening across the zoo. From puzzle feeders to novel scents and objects, enrichment encourages natural behaviours, provides mental and physical stimulation, and supports animal wellbeing.

As you explore the zoo, keep an eye out for enrichment activities for animals from Canada and around the world!

  • Java Café – Salted Maple Latte and Maple Chai, served hot or cold over ice – 12 oz – $6.45 / 16 oz – $6.95
  • Kitamba Café  and  Penguin Café – Worms in Dirt Chocolate pudding, chocolate cookie crumble and gummy worms – $4.45
