31 JANUARY 2023 (Calgary, AB) – The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is spreading the love all February long with love-ly events for all ages! From intimate date night ideas to enriching family fun, there are so many ways to show your love for wildlife and wild places this month.
In the Heat of the Night – Feb 11, 13 & 14*
Can you feel the love in the air? This best-selling, zoo-nique experience is the perfect way to celebrate the month of love with your special someone. The unforgettable evening starts with a plated four-course dining experience amidst the sumptuous gardens of the ENMAX conservatory. And after dinner, we turn up the heat! Guests will learn about how animals of all shapes and sizes “feel the love” in the wild. February 11th has already sold out so don’t delay!
Penguin Walk – Now until Mid-March
Spend time with loved ones while watching the city’s favourite waddle head out on their daily winter enrichment walk (weather permitting). The zoo’s colony of king penguins is given the opportunity to venture out onto zoo grounds and show their love to their adoring spectators. The Penguin Walk is included with daily admission and takes place at 10:30 each day, weather permitting.
Sunday Safari Brunch – Each Sunday, now until November 12*
Brunch lovers rejoice! Join us each Sunday for an egg-cellent brunch experience held in the heart of Destination Africa. Guests will enjoy both gourmet and comfort breakfast foods, including a free-flowing chocolate fountain with fresh fruit, eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon, a Belgian waffle bar, cooked-to-order omelettes, and much, much more!
Valentine’s Safari Brunch – Feb 12*
Who doesn't L-O-V-E brunch? Treat your loved ones to a special valentine’s themed brunch complete with a special menu and décor.
Looking to get a jump start on March? You're in luck as tickets are on sale now for two creativity-fuelled events taking place at the zoo!
FOCUSED – March 4*
This event offers the city’s shutterbugs exclusive access to wander the park with cameras in hand before the crowds descend for the day. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome to snap stunning shots of exotic wildlife throughout Exploration Asia from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Wild About Art – March 18*
Enjoy art from local creators with a beverage in hand amongst the sights and sounds of the zoo after hours. Unique art of all kinds – painting, photography, sculptures, chalk, music, artistic performances and more – will be paired with food and drinks throughout the park. Many artists will be demonstrating their skills live and welcome your questions and comments.
