It’s time to flip the switch on two million holiday lights. The Calgary Zoo is inviting the community to come wrap themselves in a warm winter hug at ZOOLIGHTS, presented by Olympia Trust Company, and start glowing from the inside out. Calgary’s most luminous holiday tradition is back for its 21st year and it’s set to be the brightest one yet.
“ZOOLIGHTS puts the happy into Happy Holidays,” says Roz Freeman, Senior Specialist, Special Events & Experiences, Calgary Zoo. “From twinkling lights, to hot chocolate and a visit with Santa Claus; it’s a night out that will give you all of the fuzzy feels of the season while warming your heart knowing that your visit contributes to wildlife conservation.”
Along with all of the classic family holidays traditions that visitors have come to love, several new activities have been added in to make the event even more sparkling. The ENMAX Conservatory has been transformed into Snow White and the Seven Stewards of the Forest, complete with an Enchanted Forest. Also new this year is axe throwing and an interactive 2-D bison-shaped light installation, in partnership with Parks Canada.
