Calgary, AB – In recognition of its exceptional year, the Calgary Zoo is sharing the love and giving back to its community. For the month of November, the zoo is reducing its admissions prices online and donating annual memberships to a local charity.
“2018 will go down in the history books as one of the Calgary Zoo’s best years ever and we are grateful to our community for its amazing support,” says Lindsey Galloway, Senior Director Corporate Services and Customer Experience, Calgary Zoo. “There would be no Calgary Zoo without the support of the community, including donors, sponsors, volunteers and members. We want to show our appreciation with some very special initiatives in November.”
Beginning on November 1, the zoo is offering $10 off the price of an admission ticket when purchased online. This applies to all admission tickets and will be calculated through the zoo’s website at www.calgaryzoo.com.
In addition, to mark the zoo’s historic achievement of reaching 100,000 members, the zoo has donated more than 170 memberships to the Multi-Agency School Support Team (MASST). This organization is funded through the Calgary Police Foundation and is a joint partnership between the Calgary Police Service, the Calgary Board of Education, the Calgary Catholic School District, the City of Calgary’s Calgary Neighbourhoods and Alberta Health Services. These memberships will allow kids from 5 to 12 years old the opportunity to visit the zoo and experience the wonder of the animals in the zoo’s care.
“Our community is the heartbeat of our organization,” states Galloway. “And without them, we would not be able to make a difference for species at risk and continue to pursue our mission of taking and inspiring action to sustain wildlife and wild spaces.”
