PETRONAS Gateway to Asia Malayan Tapir Viewing: ‘Sempurna’ and her female calf ‘Nyawa’ have daily access to either the main indoor habitat or the outdoor habitat from 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. They’ll also have access to their behind-the-scenes space and may choose to spend time there, so viewing isn’t always guaranteed. Exploration Asia
The Exploration Asia Redevelopment project is officially underway! While there are some viewing impacts in the area, you can still visit many of your favourite species.
Due to significant construction activities in and around Exploration Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.

Join us for a Wild Stampede Breakfast as we celebrate the spirit of the Calgary Stampede right here at the zoo! This cherished tradition brings our community together and will be a boot-scootin’ good time for the whole family.
A $5 ticket includes a delicious breakfast featuring pancakes (GF option available), tater tots, sausages, fruit, tea and coffee along with lawn games and photo opportunities. Lasso a friend, or two, or even three to share in the Stampede spirit!
All proceeds from ticket sales will contribute to the care of our animal residents and our critical conservation work around the world.

*Only Wildlife Guardians, Wild Journey members and Wild Access Pass holders can purchase tickets, but they may bring non-members with them to the event.
**Non-members attending the event will need to purchase day admission tickets in addition to the purchase of their breakfast ticket. (purchase in advance to save!). Wild Journey members can use their guest admission discount to purchase day admission tickets as well.
