Animal Viewing Impacts:

PETRONAS Gateway to Asia Malayan Tapir Viewing: ‘Sempurna’ and her female calf ‘Nyawa’ have daily access to either the main indoor habitat or the outdoor habitat from 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. They’ll also have access to their behind-the-scenes space and may choose to spend time there, so viewing isn’t always guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.

West Gate Closure

Due to significant construction activities in and around Imagine Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.

Teddy Bear Clinic

On Sunday, September 27, bring your little ones and their favourite plushies to the zoo for some TLC. For just a $5 donation per stuffed toy, our dedicated Animal Health team, educators, and volunteers will help clear up the mystery of visiting the doctor’s office and explain the importance of regular medical care for both animals and people in a fun and informative way – all while supporting a great cause!

The clinic will take place on the Asia Lawn. Don’t forget to grab your zoo tickets in advance and save big on admission for this event!

How to Take Part

To attend the Teddy Bear Clinic, a Day Admission Ticket is required for non-members.

Donate $5 per stuffed toy to take part in the Teddy Bear Clinic – every donation directly supports wildlife conservation efforts. You can donate online ahead of time and show our teams your receipt or donate in person.

Whether you’re bringing your bear-y favourite teddy or your most unique stuffie, every plush pal is sure to feel their best if you give them a bath before you visit the Teddy Bear Clinic!

Teddy Bear TLC

Each $5 stuffed toy donation includes:

  • Stuffed toy intake and triage
  • Stitching stations for “patients” who need it
  • Health checks
  • Custom prescriptions
  • Interactions with the zoo’s Animal Care, Health & Welfare team
  • Onsite animal ambulance (subject to availability)

Additional Booking Information

  • A $5 donation per stuffy is required to participate in Teddy Bear Clinic.  Please bring your proof of donation to the zoo with you. Guests are welcome to donate onsite at the event.
  • Members can access this event with their active membership.
  • Non-members are required to purchase a Day Admissions Ticket for this event. All proceeds go towards animal care and conservation efforts at the Wilder Institute’s Calgary Zoo.
  • Wear comfortable footwear and dress for the weather, this event will take place rain, sun or snow.
  • Parking is $14 and is not included. Wildlife Guardians and Wild Journey members receive free registered parking if they have successfully registered with ParkPlus.
