Animal Viewing Impacts:

PETRONAS Gateway to Asia Malayan Tapir Viewing: ‘Sempurna’ and her female calf ‘Nyawa’ have daily access to either the main indoor habitat or the outdoor habitat from 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. They’ll also have access to their behind-the-scenes space and may choose to spend time there, so viewing isn’t always guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.

West Gate Closure

Due to significant construction activities in and around Imagine Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.

Join us at the Wilder Institute’s Calgary Zoo on October 3, for Wild Walk 2026, powered by Booster Juice! We’ll be taking a big step for conservation during a morning filled with family-fun, fresh air, and wildlife.

Encounter special animal enrichment moments, photo opportunities, and live entertainment from the Wilder Bunch during an unforgettable morning in support of wildlife conservation. Registration for this three-kilometre walk opens at 8:30 a.m. in the Jayman BUILT Plaza, with Wild Walk starting at 9 a.m. in Penguin Plaza. Each step you take is a step forward for animals at the zoo and critical conservation efforts around the globe. To top off this event, join with your zoo community for a delicious breakfast buffet on Asia Lawn before continuing your zoo adventure – registration includes full-day zoo access!

  • Dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear – the majority Wild Walk takes place outdoors.
  • Show your spirit! Feel free to dress up for the Wild Walk – but please leave masks at home.
  • Parking is $14 and is not included. Wildlife Guardian and Wildlife Journey members receive free registered parking if they have successfully registered with ParkPlus.
  • Please enter with your tickets at our North Parking Lot and Entrance.
  • Register to fundraise as an individual or as a team on CanadaHelps.
  • Wild Walk tickets include Day Admission to the zoo.
  • If you wish to only attend the after-party without participating in the walk, you must still register for Wild Walk.
