We are firmly committed to delivering high quality conservation education programming paired with the creation of lifelong memories and the highest safety standards through our Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo Camps. Guided by the experience of highly skilled and passionate leaders, participants will engage in an immersive experience that builds a connection with the natural world, compassion and understanding for wild animals, and an awareness of the challenges and solutions for sustaining them.  

PD Day Camps 

Registration for Fall PD Camps will open October 2, 2023


What better way to spend a day off school than coming to the zoo? 

Kids aged 6-12 will travel the zoo alongside our talented conservation education staff and see the zoo like no regular visitor gets to. 

Discover the natural world and all its wonder through activities, games, crafts, stories, and animal adventures!

Spring Break Campscamp at hippos


Looking for a way to keep your children active over the Spring break?

Spring Break Camps are a chance for future conservationists aged 5-12 to have an action-packed week.

Discovering the natural world through activities, games, crafts, stories, interpretive programs and animal visits.

Come join the adventure March 25-28 and April 2-5, 2024! Registration opens February 2024.

Summer Campscamp at camels


What's the most zoo-nique summer camp in town?

Why, it's the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo's Summer Camps! Children and teens will engage in games, crafts, and activities as the zoo animals look on. 

Summer Camps run weekly through July & August and are available for children aged 4-14.

Whooping crane

We're proud to be Canada's only facility that breeds whooping cranes for release in the wild. When wild populations are at great risk, captive breeding is an essential part of saving an endangered species from extinction! Our Whooping Crane Recovery Program proudly funded by ConocoPhillips Canada.
