Remembering Fabio
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Fabio, a beloved member of our peafowl muster. Earlier this month, Fabio, a 15-year-old free-roaming peacock, was struck on a back service road by…

Thank you for your understanding.
Due to significant construction activities in and around Imagine Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.
Bite-Sized
We have a grizzly bear habitat update to share! Our teams have completed improvements to the grizzly bear habitat, and we’re getting ready to welcome these two curious young bears back to their main habitat tomorrow.
Fitz and Turner have been behind-the-scenes while we reinforced and strengthened the existing fencing. The work also included adding a new 90-degree overhang to prevent the bears from climbing onto the top of the fence.
When Fitz and Turner return to the habitat, our Animal Care, Health & Welfare team will monitor the bears to ensure they are safe and comfortable as they settle back in. As they adjust and establish their new routine, they may occasionally be off-habitat and may not always be viewable. We’re confident these changes will prevent a recurrence, and we’ll continue to closely monitor the behaviour of these curious young bears and make additional modifications if needed. We’re looking forward to seeing Fitz and Turner back in their habitat, where they can get back to doing what young grizzlies do best: exploring, playing, and wrestling with each other!
