Planned Giving

Gift of Securities

Malayan Tapir - Tanuck

Giving a Gift of Securities can have significant benefits for wildlife, wild spaces and your tax planning. Giving a Gift of Securities removes the taxation of capital gains and allows you to receive a tax receipt for the market value of your donation. The tax benefits of donating publicly traded securities may allow you to give more than you might have thought possible.

For more information on how to give a Gift of Securities, please complete the form below or contact Kathryne Gibson or (403) 232-9374

Dinny Legacy Fund

Commemorative Bench Program

Image
Dinny

Dinny is a historic figure for Calgary and the Calgary Zoo. Built in 1935 by sculptor John Kanerva, Dinny is the last remaining statue from the Natural History Park, which was installed in 1937 at the Calgary Zoo. Your support not only preserves a piece of history, but also helps stop other species from going extinct. By helping Dinny and supporting your Calgary Zoo, you also give a voice to all the wildlife and their endangered relatives who can’t speak for themselves, just like Dinny. Gifts of $5,000 or more will be recognized on a commemorative donor wall displayed in Dinny’s redesigned space.

Bench Program

With a donation of $5,000, you can Commemorate, Celebrate, Honour or Remember someone special by dedicating a bench in their name. The commemorative bench will feature a custom engrave plaque and remain in place for 10 years. We’ll work with you to find the perfect spot at the zoo.

Gorilla on the line – Did you know that some cell phone parts use coltan, an ore which is mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo where gorillas live? This mining contributes to habitat loss and the endangerment of gorillas. What Can You Do? Collect as many phones and handheld electronics as you can (such as iPods, iPads, tablets and mp3 players, chargers and accessories) and bring them for recycling at the Calgary Zoo! Learn More Here
